Last night Mario and I put the tree up together in the living room. We have an artificial tree that we purchased 5 years ago at a yard sale on St.
Simons Island for $25. It works. We find branches outside from other trees and pick up cuttings at hardware stores for that yummy pine scent that I love. Our advent card today reads: decorate tree. Before we can get to that we need to do some light shopping because 1. this year (finally!) we are doing all white lights and 2. we don't have enough white lights on hand.
Last night Mario and I sat on the front porch sipping hot cocoa listening to
Christmas music together. He suggested getting a small electric heater for us to use out there since we both like being out there at night. Today we found one and while we enjoyed the evening I put the finishing touches on my new pine cone garland. I need to add more hanging supports for it (more nails and hooks) to be sturdier but I really like the natural looking outcome.

Yay! The pinecone garland looks great! I wish I could spend an evening chit-chatting with you on that porch! :)
