Nutcracker. Check.

Today I did one of those things that I feel like I was put here to do. Clare and I attended the matinee performance of the Nutcracker at the Koger Center. We made a date, got dressed up, found our seats and enjoyed every minute. Her behavior was perfect and gave me confidence to start exposing her to more ballet and theater.

We shared a bag of strawberry Twizzlers at intermission and enjoyed the rest of the show together. Day 7's calendar tag read: Nutcracker and play fire trucks with Daddy. Everyone had a good day and next year we will attempt to make it a family event.

Mama: Clare, we'll see both boy and girl ballet dancers at the Nutcracker.

Clare: That's silly! Boys don't do ballet dancing.

Mama: Sure they do.

Wesley: Boys drive fire trucks!

Clare: Yeah.

So tonight it was especially sweet to hear her tell Wesley how high the male dancers could jump and that they were really strong to lift the ballerinas.

You are a good mama. How exciting. I'm happy for you. ... and can't wait to do stuff like that with Veda! First we gotta tackle not breaking down every time we get into a car. :)
