Snow Day

Lots of other kids have the winter benefit of snow days. We might get one snow day if the thought of snow infiltrates the news media but that hasn't happened yet. Instead this morning Mama declared it to be a snow day!

I adore Clare's Montessori school but have noticed an absence of paint, glitter, and goo from the things she brings home each week. To help rectify this I pulled out the Ikea roll of paper, stamps, stamp pads, brushes, red glitter, glue paste, and colored papers. We made decorated holiday trees and our first batch of wrapping paper*.

I enjoyed the spontaneous let's not go to school today because we don't have to buzz through the morning. And when I'd had enough we bundled up and went to the gym for a dose of mama time.

*I'm not buying wrapping paper this year or boxes. So gift recipients beware: the Ritz cracker box and stamped paper are coming your way!
