Tree. Check. Ornaments. Not so much.

The tree has lights but the only ornaments we found were some paper ones that I made with the kids last year. This week we need to head back up to the attic to figure out where all of the ornaments are to put on the tree. I am enjoying the advent countdown...I can now make a tag up that says 'find ornaments in the attic' and both kids will bounce up and down until we do just that. I should rename it: advent accountability.

Today when I was running around our neighborhood my mind wandered to the joy we are feeling about doing special things with our kids each day. Then I got sad when I wondered why we need just this month to do that and why we don't have a special card to unveil everyday. Ideally I that would be congruent with my motherhood mojo but I guess we need to make it through these 24 days first before tackling the other 300+ days. In 2008 a woman made a new year's resolution to use her crock pot every day. She posted a new recipe and the results every day on her blog www.crockpot365.blogspot.com. I became a crock pot follower and she got a book deal. I wonder if www.ididsomethingcoolwithmykids365.blogspot.com would produce the same results?
